Although nominations for the Irish Web Awards are now closed it's definitely worth a mention.

I'll be looking forward to seeing which sites get nominated and shortlisted for the first year of this new award.

Unlike a lot of the other awards out there the Irish Web Awards are very much run as a "not for profit - cover our costs only" type event.

This hopefully will mean that more interesting submissions will be made than those you're likely to see at a "pay to enter" type event.

Definitely one to watch!
